AUTHLIB principal investigator Radosław Markowski (SWPS University) gave an interview to Gazeta Wyborcza in March 2025 discussing how Europeans feel about democracy today and what their commitments to democratic values and principles depend on.
Drawing on the initial findings of AUTHLIB, he explained that younger generations are more withdrawn and are less engaged in politics than the older cohorts regardless if it is participation in elections or other political action, like demonstrations or petitioning. While they may want to shape the world according to their preferences, they are not only more apathetic than the older generations but also represent smaller demographic groups.
